The Southern Lewis County Water Project is nearing completion. This mainline water extension will serve 400 homes and businesses and will provide a crucial piece of infrastructure to one of the most beautiful and developable areas of Lewis County.
The lines are almost complete, and the system should be in operation by the summer of 2007.
With both Stonewall Jackson and Stonecoal lakes nearby, this area is perfect for new business opportunities, house or vacation home.
The gas industry has expanded greatly, and several new companies have located in Lewis County. National Oilwell Varco and Redman from Oklahoma have set up shop, and Superior Well Service has also located in the area.
Linn Energy located in the Lewis County Industrial Park, and now employs 153 people, and plans to expand again soon. Chesapeake Energy has purchased 17.51 acres at the Jane Lew exit on I-79. Construction on their offices is set for later this spring.
Mountain State Log Homes has expanded into the Shell Building in Jane Lew. They are also building a model home that will serve as their new offices. They plan to be moved in by this summer.
